September news
Dear Family,
Because I love you all so much, and ,I want to receive pictures, etc, and such --I am brushing off the rust, trying to figure out the computer again- to say nothing of the typing, because, I think this is a wonderful idea! I believe this is a fun and easy way we can stay connected. We will even get out the camera. Thank you Susanna.
We loved our mission tours in washington D.C.- we did eight zone conferences, and were able to stay with the misson pres. in their mission homes--which is always a treat. We spent a little time at the glorious Washington D.C. temple. The sister missionaries there were beautiful sisters-spoke a number of languages-and were very musical-they put on concerts for the public. On the weekend we flew to Louisville and spent time with Matt, Susanna and Jacob. It was a great time. Thanks to Susannas culinary talent we had gumbo-which, I have always heard about but never tried. She also made some delicious rolls and her famous key lime pie for Mattys birthday. She has included her gumbo and roll recipe on her blog site.
Happy September birthday to Mitchy, Matt and Susanna.
Your uncle Dean and aunt Beth have just been called to be the new temple pres of the Atlanta temple. They will come out here for a seminar in Oct and then begin their assignment the beginning of November. It is a three year calling. We are proud of them and are sure they will do a fine job.The temple is about 40 minutes from their home so they can go home for the weekends-or sun and monday.
Brett and Shannons Travis is still active -playing sports ,going to school but I think they have just found some more growth. He went on a Make a wish disney cruise with all of his family and Beth said he was bouncy and full of energy and had a great time. The only thing that set him apart was the patch he wears over his eye because of double vision. If you want to drop a line to Brett and Shanon or give them a call their number is beth said it has been a little hard on the other kids because he still is full of life and he is getting so much attention -presents etc. they dont quite understand.
Karyn and Matt just had a baby girl. They have named her Annaka. He goes to Iraq in a few months and she will come home and be with her family.
